I have been away from India so long and I am wondering if any know if India is allowing dual citizenship?

Also after the Oath Ceremony if I do not have the US Passport in time but if I have the I-131 Re-entry permit, can I travel with I-131 Re-entry permit or that will also become invalid along with the Green Card?

No, India doesn't allow dual citizenship. But you can apply for Overseas Indian Card.

No you cannot use a 131 to travel on because you will be a US citizen after oath. You are required to travel on the US passport.

The green card is taken away at the oath, you do not keep it.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Once you have become a U.S. citizen, you will surrender your Green Card.

Then you will apply for a U.S. passport.

Then you will formally surrender your Indian passport to the Indian embassy in Washington, D.C.

Finally, you will apply for O.C.I. (Overseas Citizenship of India).

Then you can travel to India again.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

My problem is I am in the Med School in Caribbean. The program is very time sensitive. If I miss certain number of days from school, I am automatically failed for the attendance and repeat the semester. In this case, either I have to figure out a way to get a passport immeadietly and shell out lot of money for the passport. Other option is if I can apply for the passport and leave the country and have my wife mail me the passport. I do have Visa to Aruba for 1 year and I am not sure if they would me enter with out a passport and not sure if I can leave US with out a valid passport. Any way just trying to see what are the different options available for me to be able to travel back and attend the school in time or fail a semester and repeat it again and pay $8k for the tuition again.

You wont be able to leave or enter doing international traveling without a passport.

I guess then I have to decide if it is important to become a doctor or not. I am so tired of this whole process. Timing is so wrong. Hoping for the best.

You can get a US passport in about 3 hours.

Thanks BH. I am hoping for the best. I am taking one day at a time. First let me survive the interview on Friday and plan for the next steps. Just the timing and amount of money this whole process is taking. I guess I should have done this sooner instead of waiting 31 years. At least I am glad couple of weeks ago I got my I-90 replacement card and my I-131 re-entry permit so they won't keep complain to me about having to replace my 31 year old Green Card ( that would never expire ). Once I survive the interview next week then I'll worry about the same same day oath or return again to US for the oath ceremony. Then worry about the Passport to be able to fly back to Caribbean to continue my school.
