I have just replied to an RFE about a week or two ago. Now my case status has been finally updated online with this:

"On January 27, 2012, we transferred this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action."

Obviously I don't have the notice yet but I can't imagine it would be bad if they accepted the information I send because i'm back to the initial review stage. So through experience or protocol do any of you know what this means or could mean?

I'm hoping something really good!! and NOT just that because I sent my RFE to Missouri that it's been transferred back to Chicago or something -_-.

It is just a step in the process. It is not a bad sign, just a step (well it is kind of a good sign because you are on to the next step). We received this notice 5 days after responding to our RFE on I485, then were approved EAD in about 2 weeks. Depending on your local office, you will get an interview letter, we received our letter informing us of our interview a little over a month later.

***Our case just went to our local office where we had to interview, there apparently are cases that get transferred to CSC, a lot of those don't seem to result in having an interview.

(PS I did try to edit so I would not have two posts, I am sorry but my computer locked up and then it wouldn't let me). Take care!

This is perfectly normal. Our case transferred to the CSC, also, and there was no interview. The path was Chicago lockbox -> Missouri -> CSC

Yes, ours was transferred to CSC and no interview. However, this may be true for most cases but not the result for everyone. I see it as a positive sign.
