Hey VJ,

I question about my diploma from belgium , for how i can use it here in the US.

People keep on saying the degree of deploma i got is higher than colledge here but lower than univercity.

It is here called a .. vacationary school second degree diploma i got.

Also my diploma dos not say, in what i learned for ...

I got my diploma after school were i had 3 years of mechanic and my last year was "Diesel/LPG" but that dose not say on my diploma.

How do i tell the people for when i start searching a job, that i did diesel/lpg becauz i hear that those people get really good paid.

but my diploma dos not say i did that ... is that any bad ??? anyone has info or help for me ?

Thanks in advance ~~Jorim.

Pay for a translation of the diploma/education if you want to know the equivalent for the US standards.

What kind of a school did you graduate from? A university of applied sciences? Or a vocational school?

Vocational degrees will not do too much for you toward college credit in the US, but they are useful for finding a skilled labor job. Those jobs are in high demand, and the demand will increase as most current highly skilled workers are approaching retirement age.

Well in Belgium the schools are difrent ...

In Belgium i got a BSO -A2 Diploma and that equals a vacationary school diploma in America.

But the question was can i translate my diploma and make them add that i did Diesel/LPG ?

i studied 3 years on that in school...

so thats why i ask , if i do translate it from Dutch to English if thy could add Diesel/LPG to it and also make it certified.

becauz bosses from garages could make a big deal out of it and tell me i dint do diesel/lpg ...

Definitely have your diploma translated, but the translator can't add anything to it. You can of course then tell a prospective employer what your true skills are.

What you can do is request a transcript from the school you attended to show all your course work, any certificates you earned, etc. Then have that translated to English for your potential employers.
