AOS mailed but USCIS was unavailable

Hello VJer's!

My husband and I are so excited! We finally mailed our AOS package yesterday via USPSto the Chicago Lockbox. When we checked the delivery status of the package the tracker shows the following:

Your Item's Status

We attempted to deliver your item at 10:35 am on January 24, 2012 in CHICAGO, IL 60680 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available.

You may arrange redelivery by visiting <ahref="https://www.usps.com/redelivery/welcome.htm">www.usps.com/redelivery</a> or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after five days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.

Will USCIS check and call USPS for the package or do we need to call USPS?

It's normal, I posted the same questions a few week ago when I mailed out our package. They will pick it up at the end of the day.

WOW, that's interesting, did you guys send it to the Chicago PO box address? And also, did you request the delivery confirmation/signature service at the USPS location, I will be mailing out the AOS paperwork in the next couple of days, I'd love to find out if this is the best way to get the paperwork over to the USCIS? Please let us know if the tracking status changes? thanks

Hello! Yes, we sent it to the Chicago PO Box address via USPS and we did request tracking of the package also. It was successfully delivered yesterday afternoon!

Just got the same notice when I checked the tracking status of our package. Was just about to have a mini heart attack, but checked visa journey first. Thank God for this site and you all. I love how we are all going through the same motions but helping each other and sharing stories at the same time. Very cool. Hopefully they'll pick up our package in a few hours.

Same thing happened when we sent in the K-1 petition as when we sent in the AOS packet (though obviously different addresses...lol....). The result was the same, it was signed for by USCIS on the next business day. No reason to stress out.
