Question about sibling petition

Hi all,

Once David becomes a USC, we will petition for his sister, which we understand will take 10+ years under current immigration visa numbers.

Question is: We plan to live in the UK for a few years in the future...does this invalidate the petition? Do we have to be living in the US for the entire 10+ years in order for the petition to go through?

Thanks for any clarification...

Naturalization

David can live whereever he wants before his sister enters the US as an immigrant. The only requirement is that David establish a US domicile (official US residence) prior to or at the time his sister enter on her immigration visa.

David must behave like a good USC and file his taxes every year no matter where he lives. He should also be living in the US when the petion becomes current ( in theory it is to unite siblings and if he isn't here she doesn't need a visa )

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Haha, oh yes, he will be filing. Actually, I'm going to make him file this year's taxes for the two of us because he needs to learn how it works here, now that I've done 2010 last year. Turbotax does us very nicely...
