This is sooooo confusing. Hope somebody can help me. :(

I got my NOA2 on Jan 4,2012. So I thought the case was going to NVC. Today I got this message ... what does it mean???

The last processing action taken on your case

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity

On January 19, 2012, a USCIS office received this case from the State Department with a request that we review it. We will notify you when we complete our review, or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. For denied applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include the processing of an appeal and/or motions to reopen or reconsider and revocations.

From reading the last sentence in the last paragraph it appears that it was sent for further review for some reason. It could be something simple. I suggest you call USCIS and ask for a tier 2 rep so they can hopefully go over the cause and remedy for this.

i actually just called them. the officer i talked to said this must be a mistake. For k1 usually this does not happen uless the embassy has an issue with it and my case never got past NVC. he said i would have to wait until the end of the review. Am devastated.

This sounds crazy and I would suggest 2 things. First, don't stress out because you have no clear answer yet as to whether this is something bad or not an issue at all. Second, I would call and speak to another person. Since this is not something that normally happens, you'll be getting the rehearsed speech/answer that they give when there is no explanation. Maybe the next officer will be willing to dig a little deeper for you.

Trying to remain optimistic. Its crazy to see two petitions with the same issue.

Hopefully this will be resolved soon and not the 120 days that they are quoting. Crossing my fingers, toes and even ears.

:D:dance:

Once again things are moving in the right direction. Got my case number from NVC.

Apparently USCIS had sent my information without the cover letter and that is why it was returned from NVC.

WHEW!!! Now cant wait for the next step. Crossing my fingers and praying really hard that there are no more hurdles to face. Afterall the consualate in Kenya is known for being difficult.

I'm glad to see that everything ended up good. I think that, because they are so back logged, mistakes like this will be more frequent.
