Didn't file I-129F

Hello.. we made a mistake not to file the I-129F package after we receive the NOA for I-130 for K3 visa. It had been nearly 4 months already. so we decided to proceed to CR1.. Is that the best thing to do? Will we just leave the application of I-130 until it's approval? What other things should we do so we will get through the CR1 process? How long will it take for the process to finish.. I'm worried it will take us so long. Any help please? Thanks.
