The NVC'S automated systed states that my case was forwarded to the embassy on 9/27. However when I went to track it on DHL's website I dont see any cases send out on 9/27, it goes from 9/25 to 9/28. I'm a little concerned. Please advise. Thanks.

Ours never showed up at all. I wouldn't rely on the DHL site to be gospel. Also, NVC does take a few days to ship them out after they tell you they've sent them.

I hope it goes quickly for you!!!

Its so stupid I just don't understand why NVC cannot give you the tracking number, it would make life so much easier. After all this I just dont want anything to go wrong, thats all.

You can also call the DOS or the embassy to find out if they have received it.

DOS # is 202-663-1225 the press 1-1-0. I'm not sure of the embassy number for India. You can google it.

I will warn you though, it took a little more than 3 weeks for anyone to admit to receiving it.

I'll keep you in my thoughts.

Well, Calling the embassy wouldn't help.

What you can do is .. email the embassy and give them your case number and ask them whether they have received your case or not. They are good at replying emails than answering their phone calls.

Good luck !!!!

Our case never showed up on DHL either. In fact no DHL went to Jakarta, 1 week before, or after NVC sent it out.

I received an e-mail that the Embassy had the case.

If your case is going to a busy post, such as India-Brazil-UK-PI-etc, how will you ever know which shipment contains your case?

I think that DHL tracking is a waste of time and gives false hope.

I totally agree with that. It gives false hope *and* is a source of unnecessary stress.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.
