Does anyone know if the legal paperwork giving legal permission by the father of immigrating lady's children is necessary for the interview? We are getting information that the paperwork will only be provided if we prove a Visa has been approved.

I can only tell you my experience in Canada. At my interview, where my kids also attended, the interviewer made a note on their petitions..."has permission to move".

My circumstances were such that I had judge-endorsed permission to move. My ex-husband did things like refusing to sign their passports in order to delay the kids' CR2 petitions therefore causing my interview to be assigned before their petitions were completed. Fortunately, I was able to expedite and we all got interviewed on my date.

I drew up a statutory declaration that stated that my ex gave permisson for our son to move to the states with me, this then had to be signed by my ex infront of a lawyer.

This was asked for at my interview in london, that was all I gave them as I forgot to take all the court papers saying I had sole custody with me.

Almost done with it all
