Hi,

I'm the beneficent in a K1 Visa process, and from the UK. We've had our Stage 2 notice, my case has been handed over to the US embassy in London. I'm about to attend my medical assessment next week, and send the relevant DS230 and DS156 forms to the embassy so as to request an interview.

Our issue is that my fiancee is about to lose her job, without another role to go to. If she does, how will that affect our visa? I'm worried, as I already have a affidavit of support and documents outlining proof of income, which would be inaccurate by the time I have my interview.

Thanks,

Ben

At the interview, you will need to update the US Embassy if there are any material changes to your visa application. You will need to notify the US Embassy that your wife has lost her job which materially affects the Affidavit of Support. You will be asked to provide a joint sponsor if your wife cannot meet the I-864 requirements.

Presenting a form you know to be incorrect for a materia, matter such as her income is fraud. Even if you got away with it, you would always be subject to having ANY benefot resulting from that fraud to be revoked.

Since it is a K-1 you will also need to do another affidavit shortly after your arrival and it could be a problem then.

I suggest she get a co-sponsor ASAP and send you another affidavit for herself and for the co-sponsor
