Is this gonna effect the visa process?

The guy's divorce is still on going and he met this girl online and they seem getting along well. The guy is now planning to go the Philippines to meet her, actually he is about to book his plane ticket soon. Is this going to be a problem that he is meeting his gf in the Philippines while his divorce is on going?

If your friend is divorcing in a no-fault state, no worries, if his travels could be used against him in divorce court by his stb-ex, he'll just have to be real sneaky or wait it out.

I went to meet my fiancee Ritchie before my divorce even started, My ex and I had been separated for over a year at the time but knew we would be divorcing. I did not however submit the I129f petition until after the divorce and I had the divorce decree in my hands. I got the decree about 3 weeks after the divorce and started the process right away and ended up mailing the petition what turned out to be about 2 months after the divorce date. No problems with that at any point along the way, even my ex knew I went to the Phils before we started the divorce it was not brought up in our divorce case and I doubt it would have mattered anyway cuz it was also known that my ex had been sleeping around and had a baby by another man just 1 month after the divorce proceedings started. Actually I wished she had brought up that I went to see my fiancee in the Phils so my lawyer and I could focus on the specifics of her infidelity! I'm sure that's why it was not brought up. Or because I live in a no fault state and none of it actually mattered anyway.

From what I have read, people have been denied for filing the K-1 before they are divorced. Get the certified divorce decree in hand and send it in with the I-129f when you file or you will get a RFE anyway. Being free to marry is one of the absolute key elements of filing the I-129F.

I dont think it will be a problem to meet her, Key word being "MEET"! Do not file the I-129F until you have that Divorce Decree in Hand! Good Luck!

I-129f petition would be denied if he did not send in his divorce papers or at least would get the RFE for it.

I-129F would be denied if he sent it in before he was divorced and they will ask you to prove it. If the certified divorce document stated the divorce was after the I-129f was filed... that would not work.

I dont think that will cause any problem if the main reason for his travel is meeting the girl. I agree with everybody saying dont submit the I 129F yet until the divorce is final.
