Doing our paperwork since we got packet 3. Quick question,guys.. Does my fiance (USC) needs to legalize the copy of his divorce decree or he can just send me the copy? Thanks!

The divorce decree by itself means that it is legalized copy as it is issued by the Family Court. On the other hand are you sure you need his divorce decree for the interview, as they already have it.

We took a copy and original of everything (official docs) like divorce to the interview, just in case. it depends where your interview is and how comfortable you are with the process. Maybe I am just paranoid and have worked too long for the government.

Thanks guys, my fiance is now getting ready to legalize his divorce decree, my interview will be in Indonesia. So I think I need the original divorce decree and the copy.legalized from my fiance. Just in case they need to look the original one.

Based on my packet 3 'document preparation instructions for fiance visa interviews' point number 7 : death or divorce decree from petitioner and applicant. On the same page the instructions mentioned that for each document, the applicant must bring:

- originals or original certified copies by the issuing office.

- photocopies of the original documents.

So it seems my fiance should make the copy of the original divorce decree then get legalized from court, and he better send me the original, rite?

Not yet lol anyway I was looking for updated answer from vj people but yea I forgot about how each consulate has their own instructions.
