Can someone tell me exactly what they check and what examinations they do for the Medical screening. I saw a blog from a Filipina that has a great information and nice blog imagrantengfilipina.posterous.com . My concern is that Anne was telling me she had problem and bubble on her stomach. She said hurts. On web cam she showed me. The best I can make out and describe is under her breast is a oval lump 3x6. it did not appear red or infected. My thought is fat deposits. If some one know if A hernia is possible in that location please advise. I pleaded for her to get looked at. She went but not sure what kind of doctor or place she went or just a simple clinic. She is in Tagum. They did not give her much of an explanation and gave her pain killers( her words). I said we need to treat the cause or problem and can not keep taking pain pills. I asked her to find another doctor. She doesn't want to do it alone. I am Returning there first week of February and asked her to to make appointment while I am there with a good doctor, hospital or specialist. Now saying doesnt want to use our time together for that and wants to wait till she is here in US. I will be able to judge myself better when I am there. She is 24 and I think just nervous. I just dont want this to be an issue during Medical exam. She reads on here also and any advice would be appreciated.

Could be lipoma. She needs to see a doctor. I doubt that it is a hernia.

I would have her see a doctor ASAP. This will help to avoid any delays later when she needs to do her medical at St. Luke's Medical Center Extension Clinic (SLEC). Prayer is best at this time and getting ahead of this now could save her and yourself a lot of worrying and headache.

Good Luck and Good Bless!!

Looking for sound advice and experience. This process is more than a hope and a prayer. On WebMD and wiki it looks as it is. Pain is coming from her bra. I will asses and do what needs to be done there. If a procedure is needed I will try to wait for her to be here. Just now need advice on what they a looking for at medical besides, drug use, disease, sexually transmitted disease, Suicide attempts, scars etc.. Just so they do see lump or feel lump and delay process.

I apologize :( if my words sound insensitive and not of the medical advice you wanted to hear.

All I was saying is that a little prayer and going to the doctor will help the mind body and soul. If my wishes and advice is unwarranted I will not give further advice.

Again, may your fiancee get the doctor's prognosis and get a diagnosis on what the lump is.

Hi Anne and Bret

Here are the hospitals that I was able to research in Tagum and Davao. I would suggest calling them and explaining the lump. They can set an appointment to come in for a check up and exam. Remember this is the Philippines you need to find out what the cost will be and its cash in hand unless she has medical coverage.

Inky thank you for advice we looked at seems to be what it is. Your contact can't recieve messages, tried to email you personally.

Your welcome! from your description and from experience with someone in my family having one in almost the same area it sounded like thats what it was. I don't think it would be a problem with the exam but I didn't have my medical in the Phils or anything so i'm not sure if they look badly on that sort of thing but its not contagious or anything like that which is what they usually look for on the medicals. You guys should try to see a doctor and have it examined to at least get a proper diagnosis of it if it is in fact lipoma then choose where to go from there be it surgery in Phils or in the USA etc.

She may have been afraid or embarrassed to tell you - I know i'm afraid or embarrassed to tell my husband things that are going on sometimes.

edit to add - oops! also seems my message area on here was full headbonk.gifI didn't even notice lol..thanks !

It's almost certain that the doctor at St. Lukes will see the lump. I don't know if her condition will cause a delay regarding her medical clearance. However, there was a recent thread here on VJ where St. Lukes required a patient to get treatment for eczema before they would give her a medical clearance.

I hope she sees a good doctor right away in case her condition is something dangerous.

To me, this is real love when the man wants to really take care of his fiancee and wants to see that she gets medical treatment when something is discovered. I provided medical care for my finacee as well but it was a lot of dental that she had to have done. The medical prices there were probably 20% of what it would cost in the US.

Good luck to you and her.

Thank you all and I will try to convince her to make appointment and we can go there togther when I am there. If lipoma, it seems minor and simple procedure outpatient. Last thing we need is a delay after making it so far! I will report back
