So I sent in my passport to have my name changed and they cashed my check....anyone else done this? How long did it take?

It was REALLY scary to pack up my passport and mail it off!!!

I was happy to kiss mine good bye :) Love mom and dad....but REALLY was not fond of my maiden name. I kept my first and middle though :)

I thought about 'myfirst-mylast-hislast' but mine is 7 letters & his is 8 so no chance of a double barrelled one. Plus no one can ever pronounce mine.

My middle is Louise, I'm not fond of that one.

well I did it just to be safe. ALL of my documents, DL, CC, everything is in my married name. Myp lane tickets will be in my married name...and while I've heard you can just go with your marriage certificate...1. I don't want to travel with that and 2. I don't want to risk it with our upcoming travel...

So I went to the dept of state website and found out where to send it...somewhere in PA - all the instructions are on the site.

I know how you feel Caro I did mine earlier this year and the turn around time was around 6 weeks. They sent my old one back to me and it has holes punched in it to make it obsolete.

yes ma'm :)

My new passport photo is #######...that's the only thing I miss about my old one...that and all my stamps. I had done some fun traveling - my new one is all blank and sad :)
