Hello All,

I wanted to know what was the best way to obtain a visitors visa. What documents are necessary and what forms should be completed. My father, a US citizens, wants to invite my uncle/ his brother for a visit to the US from El Salvador.

Thank you,

Your father can send an invitation letter, outlining how long the brother will stay, what they'll do together and (if appropriate) that he will pay for the brother's trip, but it has little relevance. Your uncle needs to apply and qualify on their own, by showing strong ties to his home country, ie reasons he will definitely return, such as a job, property, leaving behind wife and kids etc.

I am not sure I understand your question. If you are asking what form YOU/ your father should file then: none, as mentioned your father, the US citizen, cannot do anything. Your father simply write a short letter- no more than one page- sign and date it and give it to your uncle, who will bring it to interview.
