Hi Dorah28, i went through the nairobi embassy, acording to my process, when the nairobi embassy got my package from NVC, they informed me through email that they have received my package and they gave me two different adresses of two places that i can do my medicals and when i can schedule an interview, they told me to schedule my interview after completing my medical. (that is what is mostly advised to do). So when the embassy receives your application from NVC, (i am assuming it is still with NVC), they will send either you or your fiance an email informing you about it, where you can do your medicals and when you can schedule an interview. But like i said do medical first then schedule the interview.

When going or the medicals you will need to carry with you your passport, your case number and letter from the US consular which shows approval of your K1 application, 2 passport photos (american visa size), if you also have ever done any vaccinations before carry the records of those vaccinations with you. There is also a fee for the medicals which you need to take with you for payment. They will let you know how much to carry once you schedule a medical appointment.

No, they don't ask for your academic transcripts.

Yes the email is what you present. It should have your case number too.

I am not so sure if you need a visa to Nairobi while flying. Personally i went to Nairobi by road and I didn't have to get any visa. I don't know about the flying part.

While in Nairobi, I lived at the convenant guest house. It was a pretty nice place. Its not so near the consulate but i had a taxi that came to pick me up very early in the morning and took me to the consulate right on time. I only had to make the arrangement with the taxi guy early enough.

No problem, it's good to help those going through the journey i went through as i was also helped by those who did it before me.

Good luck in your journey.

Hi there,

Note to OP: You don't need a visa to Kenya (Nairobi) since you are an EAC native and resident. You'll however be required to fill in a small form (yellow or pink) with details about your identity and trip then once you hand that to the immigration officer (s) ya pssprt will be stamped and off you'll go !

Hotels...haa since you haven't got to do your medical examinations, you're better off searching for a place to stay nearer to where the medicals will be taken then almost all taxis/cabs aka "special" nga bwemuziyita can always take you to the consulate any time day or night!

Read some of my posts on here about my experience with medicals and the interviews as i think it might help.

Good luck.

Thanks KASH2011 and Then.

Now do you guys think the Nairobi consulate is easy to go through? depending on your personal experiences.

My Fiance(USC) has only visited me once last May for 3weeks,Do you think its a red flag and might be questionable during the interview?

Thanks for the input

Well, I can't really say if its easy or not. What really matters is be true to each question, don't lie. Know your fiance very well, always have the correct documents and good evidence then all will be fine. your fiance visiting you once is not so much a big deal but it's better to be ready for it in-case they bring it up.

You know with petitioning for us Africans, most red flags arise when there is a big age gap (but not so much) and false documents. Some people say that it also depends on the mood of the consular interviewing you...but i don't know how true that really is. However, being true is the best way to go about it. Btw, Kash2011 was so good in helping me and my fiance through our process, he got some good info which helped us.

Goodluck

Ok,Thank you once again, please can you tell me what documents are submitted on the day prior to the interview? And do i have to submit the supporting evidence on the same day aswell or do i just have to submit only the forms and carry the evidence on the actual day for the interview?

Nice day
