Any experience on 221g Request of additional document at the Lagos Consulate

Please does anyone has experience on the procedure when additional documents is requested at the Lagos Consulate. Is it a new interview entirely or eyes only on the requested document. And should i scan the requested doc (the tax document from co sponsor) to the embassy before the 2nd interview date which is in 5th of March? Please help

Documents required should be mailed in original copies/photocopy if available. (Interview is March,u have alot of time).It is best to assumed,its a fresh interview,cos you will need to provide existing documents,plus evidences showing ongoing relationship since the 1st interview.The beneficiary might have same CO for the second interview.Go with all documents like the 1st interview

A request for documents is just that: submit the needed evidence. In the majority of cases there is no second interview.

Go with all the document you took with you on your first interview just like the first post (Suleymon) stated. If the RFE was requested from the US petitioner, i will say fax it, and it in time both to the Lagos Consulate and The beneficiary (your spouse).

Contrary to Anh Map statement, there is a second interview in Lagos Consulate, i went through this same process first interview in January and the later in February 2010 at the Lagos Consul. The RFE was requested from me and not my Spouse who is the petitioner and in the email sent to me from the Lagos Consul i was told to bring them in on my second interview the with letter requesting for the RFE.

Thank you guys, i appreciate al lot. Actually im the beneficiary. The affidavit of support was provided by my Uncle including my own eveidence of personal fund. When the CO looked at the affidavit of support and found out that his tax doc was not available. She then handed over the white paper saying that i should send his 2010 tax doc in order to verified his claimed income.

Being the Beneficiary under a K-1 Visa,you dont need provide your financial status and how did ur uncle come in as a co-sponser?

Its a K1 fiancee visa. The requirement says applicants own funds or fund from a U.S sponsor in form of affidavit of support. My fiancee cant provide affidavit because she is not earning above poverty guildline,so my uncle offer to provide affidavit of support. The CO does not raise any question on this when i told her my Uncle is the one on the affidavit of support. Though she asked what job my fiance does and i told her but she did not ask her anything about her earning. Do you think question might be raise on it when i go for the second interview?

My co-sponsor sent his 2010 IRS e.file Signature authorization (Form 8879)though it has his Declaration contro Number on it. will this be ok to prove his tax.
