Ok so I have two different jobs at two different states (I am a grad student working in my Grad School but I also have a job in my home state)

-This is my first year (2011) meeting the poverty line, will it be a problem? About 19,200

-Havent file taxes yet because year is not over, so no W-2 but can I send my pay-stubs from both jobs and a sheet explaining the calculations and what not?

-Should we send in a copy of my 2010 taxes even though I did not meet the poverty line? But I do not have my W2 not sure where it is.

-I will add an employment letter from Job 1 and a letter from my earnings from school (job2) to proof I will have both jobs next year.

-BTW, I do not have a co-sponsor

-I have 6k in savings and have a letter from my bank stating so.

-Do i sign I-134 in front of the officer? The email they send with Package 3 content said so ....

Do you think this is enough? Pleasseeeeeeee help

The poverty line that they look at is 25K per year minimun and they want at least two solid years(at least that's what my lawyer told me). Since you are below it and currenly a student yourself i would definity recommend co-sponsor with a solid income history. Sorry, but love is not enough the immigration wants to see that once you bring this person to the states you will be able to support both of you for a while till he/she gets a job; they don't want to admit anyone that will be living off the government support. Good luck.

I think the actual poverty line for 2 people is 18,400.

But do the fiance visas have a different standard? I know they fill out the I134 instead of the I-864.

I hope another fiance person can answer for you.

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

25k per year? First time I heard this- according to the USCIS website its $18,387 -that is the 125% poverty line, and i do not have any dependents maybe in your case it was more.

Yes the standard is actually lower- 100% poverty line but they look for 125% poverty line- I meet the requirement and I have proof that I will for the future so I dont see the problem?

maybe..I'm in Illinois and i was told to sponsor someone it would need to be $25K, which was not a problem for me.

It differs by household size so i would assume he told you 25k because your household is bigger than two people?

I think maybe Egypt is a harder consulate

I have seen 2 people make the poverty amount or more and they asked for cosponsor. so maybe it is just egypt?

No, it's just me. (and my husband) but maybe it varies? I don't know...i do have a mortgage so maybe they look at income vs debt? I don't know but that's what i was told.

truth is that it depends on the consular in charge of your case...i barely made it by maybe hundreds(can't remember exact amount) and we passed. I have heard some are denied and told to get cosponsor like us so it depends i guess..doesn't seem fair but that is how it works...
