Event Description

Embassy Review : We got a phone call 4 days before out interview notifying us of our date, so no letter or anything which concerned me. We got there around 7:30 am there was a line already so we stood at the end. Our interview was at 8:30 so the people working there said that only people with 7am appts can stand. So a lot of people had to leave the line and stand across the street. Once the line got shorter and near 8 am or so they called everyone back and ofcourse everyone ran to the line. My fiancé asked one of the ppl working where are we supposed to stand he told him we are a k-1 visa. So the guy said you stand on the immigration line so got to skip the long line and there were only maybe 6 other ppl on the immigration line and we were first on line. The non immigration line was really long. Anyways so the other ppl on the immigration line didn't have letters for their appt because they also got last minute phone calls. So the workers said yes we are printing the report for the immigration appts, so we waited a little bit for the list and when the guy came with the report he asked us our case # I saw the report it only maybe 6 or 7. So he signed an envelope we had as so my fiancé can enter with that signature. They told me I can't go in but that if they need me they will call me from outside the embassy. So I waited and my fiancé was out after 1 hour and 10 mins. I was shocked and I was like???? He said thank god we got approved. He said he never felt like he was speaking to a counsler as she was very nice and spoke to him in Arabic not perfect arabic but good enough. She asked him maybe 4 or 5 questions. where did you meet? Where is she from? Is she originally Egyptian? Why do you want to get married in USA and not Egypt ? So she said ok I approve your case and kept his passport but said it will take a month to recieve it. She offered him his passport incase he needs it within a month he said no so she kept it and gave him a paper with our case number and how to track it.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
