I got an email notification from NVC of my husband's interview date, Jan 30th. The last two pages are a list of necessary documents and the fee. The key indicates that all document requirements have been sufficiently fulfilled and the payment has been made. My question is, why am I reading about everyone else taking huge stacks to the interview? Even though they have all of the docs do I have to bring them again? I understand we will need 'proof of relationship' stuff, but do we need to take all originals of all documents already submitted and verified (ie birth cert, police record, etc).

Are there two options, documents now or documents later? Or is it docs now AND later?

Yes, it is better to bring all documents ( Just in case if they need ). Lets say if they are missing anything, then they may ask for that. So better to bring at the time of interview.

Prepare for interview with all necessary doc. because we dont know what could be asked there. Failure to provide any document, it can delay to issue the visa.

Hope it helps.

You are an IR1/CR1 case. Everyone carrying a stack of documents with them to the interview are K1 cases. You have already done everything in advance! They have everything necessary. Your husband should bring his passport and perhaps the 2X2 fotos (if you did not send them with the IV application).

Our interview date is 17 January and on the NVC interview letter (last page) it states that everything has been recieved and all payments made. Therefore, my wife needs only to show up with her interview letter and her passport.

We are at the same stage, so there is some uncertainty, but from everything I've read....K1 filers have to carry all those documents to the interview. IR1/CR1 filers do not if they already sent the documents to NVC before hand.

You will find this information in the embassy reviews provided here at VJ.

Good Luck,

Magnus

hello, everyone is right, but take in consideration that every consulate is quiet different on processing, in the tegucigalpa embassy or other embassy s some documents are valid for 6 months: the birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate, if you submitted these documents to the nvc more than 6 months ago then you very need to get new ones before the interview, if not they will tell you to come back latter and as busy they are it would probably take another month, also take copy of every single paper you submitted to nvc, you never know, believe it or not sometimes in the process of your case they mix up papers or they lose them and they may ask you for it, so it is better to be ready for every possible situation, like i said you never know! , go to el (registro naticional de las personas)and get the birth certificate and marriage certificate (forma literal cost 200lps) and the police certificate again ( from dgic tegucigalpa cost 200lps) make sure the medical sealed envelope is right, get new photos, make color copies of all the the documents, forms like I-864 ds-230 if they submitted to nvc you don't need to submit again but take copies with you, like i said you never know ( you should have done this before you sent papers to the nvc ) read carefully the instructions, also if you are a US Citizen or Honduras citizen if you are the petitioner also need a birth certificate, also taxes of 2010 forms 1040 and w2's if you did not submitted to nvc but take the back up copies to the interview, you never know. I hope this is help full.
