ROC Bio done in Sept. 2011 - no greed card yet?

My stepson who came to the US with a K-2 visa filed his ROC way before Sept. 2011, for he had his biometrics done in September 2011. According to the average case and his own mother's case, it is taking no more than 3 months after the biometrics to either get a NOA with an approval and a few weeks after getting the actual GC. At least, this was our experience with his mother's ROC process. So I am worry about this long wait. Is there anything we can do? Or does he needs to wait until his ROC original NOA expires? What else can we do? Thanks.

what is the date on the NOA1? there are still lots of people who filed at CSC from june, july, august that have not received their approvals yet.

Your stepson must be August filer, right? August CSC filer's approval rate is 36% here in ROC forum as of today. Here is the link

There's nothing you can do except wait, with the rest of us No need to worry though, plenty of people around here are waiting close to a year for news since their bio

Well as I mentioned somewhat in my earlier post, my stepson's mom, my wife, got her 10 year GC about 3 months after her Biometrics, but my stepson who had his Biometrics on 09/01/2011 to be exact has yet to received his approval NOA. I don't see what's the USCIS delay with his case since his case is much simpler than his mother's. Anyhow, someone told me that now it may take between 4 to 6 month to finalize his ROC. Is this true in our days?

I will try to post back to see the date on his original NOA which extended his 2 year GC for an extra year. Right now I am at work, and I will have to wait until this evening to find out this NOA date. Anyhow, thanks for all your comments. He will have to keep on waiting--I guess.

Thanks for that link. I will try to get the ROC NOA1 date some time this evening and post it here. I do know that his "biometrics" were done on 09/01/2011, for my wife told me this yesterday evening.

you're still within normal wait time compared to CSC who filed in august! I am a May filer (VSC), haven't received anything yet after my BIO. hang in there, you're not alone.

august CSC filers only have 35% approved. meaning 65% of filers are also unapproved. the majority.

I am a July Filer and had my BIO in August. The only contact I am expecting from USCIS before Feb 2012 is an RFE. You are still within your timeframe. Wait & see Strategy is all you have as an option. There will be more delays now due to the long Xmas/New Year vacations.

Don't worry I'm with you as well, I filed in June and last communication I got from them was my app was sent to local office back in late September.

If you still have not heard anything, file your N-400 for citizenship 3 months prior to your NOA extension date and get on with it.

I know, they are ridiculously slow these days.

Make an infopass and go get a stamp in the passport that will extend it another year. While you are there have them check on the case.

OR

apply for citizenship before the expiration of the extension - this will force them to have to process the ROC petition.

More likely just chronically understaffed.

The U.S. issued over 27,000 K1 visas in 2009. That's just K1.

Assuming the majority of those visas resulted in a marriage and subsequent adjustment of status, we could be looking at well over 1,000 ROC applications PER MONTH to each of the two service centers.

That's a lot of staffing hours required. And you can bet the staffing just isn't there.
