Hi All,

So I hope I receive more comments on this than I did on my last post, cause it is making me quite anxious. So I went for my interview last Dec 2. Everything went well and I submitted everything they required from me. after the second interview with the consul, I politely asked : so sir, does this mean I've been approved and he replied and said: It's not officially on record yet, but everything looks great and you don't have to worry at all. someone else will speak to you. Then I went to window 72 the lady had my petition, counted the number of pages in my petition and had the documents I just submitted and added it on to my file, she handed me the white 221 g form that had nothing marked off and said under the 'OTHERS' section as to see over. She told me that it's just standard procedure for document verification. I was just wondering how long do these things usually take? and does this mean I've been approved? i mean they did take my passport.

Did they take your passport?

On the 221 g Form, does it state if you need to provide additional documentation?

If no, there maybe something they need to verify in the K-1 package.

If they have your passport it's a good thing!!

God Does for those who do for themselves..!!

they have your passport and no required additional docs so just wait. they may only need some re verification with your packet...standard procedures as they say. normally it varies from 2-3 weeks then you will get your visa. try to email them after 2 weeks to follow up. goodluckinnocent.gif

It takes at least 3 weeks to get the re verification process to be done. I am on the 3rd week on AR/221g now and still no visa and worst I cant even connect to USEM phone line. How great NOT!

Hi issha,

Thank you so much for the reply, so you guys think that it was an approval? And OH the USEM is impossible to call, I plan on calling first thing in the morning hopefully I have better luck. Good luck to us both then, I'm glad I have someone else in the same situation. Keep me posted on your journey!

:D Salamat po for your kind words.

More good news: document verification usually only takes a few weeks.

More bad news: document verification usually only takes a few weeks. :P

Anyway...look at the bright side...the waiting gives you time to pack your bags, say your goodbyes, and to enjoy some fishbol and squidbol before you leave. :)
