I am constantly reading posts from Pinay about how homesick they are in places like Nebraska, Illinois, Alaska, Iowa and Missouri. I find myself lucky being able to bring my Filipina here to Southern California where there is such a diverse support group of Filipinos - there is even an entire community of Filipinos in one city. I would have never been supported myself without those Filipino friends that I have met and allowed me to stay with their relatives in the Philippines. It is a beautiful welcome mat and lessons that need to be learned by many Americans.

I live in the DC area and there is a heavy Filipino population around here...I was surprised that Queens NY has more Filipinos than San Fran and almost more than Honolulu...

Well the first wave of Filipinos came to Hawaii and California around the early 1900's. So they have had over hundred years and many generations to make sizable communities in those areas. The only problem is these areas are the most expensive to live.

Yep, we have a huge population of Filipinos here in NYC & the surrounding areas.

Queens, NY is the only place on the east coast and outside of California, Vegas & Seattle with a Jollibee. :D
