Hello everybody, I will be travelling with my 4 yrs old son to NY. He has both passports (peruvian and american), and his father is my fiance and wont be travelling with us

Question: Does he need to sign an authorization so my son can leave the country. Or just because he has american passport he doesn't need it?? I'm really lost in this

No he has a US passport to re-enter on and you an adult will be with him.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

You may have seen Briancole's article, "Big Problems at the Airport". I'm sure you've already read this on page 3 of this portal.

Best of Luck!!!

Sincerely,

Magnus

of course I read it, but his case is different, his son is leaving Peru with PERUVIAN passport. My son will be leaving Peru with AMERICAN passport, so idk if an authorization is still needed, this law applies to peruvian child, my son is american as well

I would have your fiance draw up a letter stating he is aware of his son traveling with you and gives his permission. Have him notarize it and carry it with you just in case you get asked for it.
