Hello VJ family, I have a question, is it OK to have a friend who have known you for almost five years to sign you affidavit of support about your marriage?, even though he was not present at the time of marriage but he knows for a fact that im married.

any thoughts is much appreciated.

All he/she can attest to is that you and spouse represent to others that you are married, or that he's seen the registered certificate. What do you mean 'knows for a fact you are married'??

I mean he knows that Im married even though he wasn't present at the ceremony. so u mean anybody can attest to that? it doesn't necessary mean who was present at the ceremony or not....right?

As I said, he can attest that he's seen the registered certificate and I suppose this could be also interpreted as the fact you note. The only other way he could attest for a fact that you are married is if he was present at the wedding ceremony.

Does he know your wife? Has he witnessed your relationship develop? If yes, then sure, he can write an affidavit stating he knows for a fact that you're in a truthful relationship with your wife. That's the base for a bona fide marriage.
