Does it help to accompany your fiance(e) at their interview abroad? Does that help at all? Will you be allowed inside to speak to the CO or at least be in viewing range? I mean what better way to prove an ongoing relationship than be present to support your future spouse right? That sure as heck should be better than showing pictures right? Ha ha!

You are absolutely correct. What better way to show your in a serious and loving relationship by being there on the interview.

For my Fiance's interview I was there in Oct. You will go there with your fiance and fall in line for pre-processing of appoint letter, passport and required documents. Beneficiaries will enter first. Petitioners are not allowed inside until 7:30 AM. Then you can go in and sit or stand with you fiance. Keep an eye on the number board for her number as she will have already received her number from one of the windows. Once her number is called you can go up to the window with her. The first interview is with the Filipino consulate. They may ask you a few questions or not but your presence there makes a whole lot of difference.

She will then get finger printed if she did not get that when she first was called. Then you will now wait for the US consulate to interview her. You can go there with her to the window again. They may or may not ask you questions but you being there adds a whole lot of weight and proof to your relationship. As long as you have all your paperwork in order and all documents signed properly and nothing crazy you are good to go. Please read the affidavit of support and have your last 3yrs of W-2's and actual filings there on the embassy as they will need that.

I wish you and your fiancee good luck on your interview!!

Also leave all electronics home or check them in at the embassy they will give a card to retrieve at the end.

Also be a VJ'er and start your timeline :D:star::dance:

All I can say is that they approve a lot of petitions with or without the petitioner being around as long as the papers are correct and you could satisfy the evidences they are looking for.

I know it isn't necessary to be there, as long as you have the documents in order and adequate evidence....

...just the same I plan on being there, then we will fly back to the states together. Like you said what better evidence of an ongoing relationship!

This should be posted on the Phils regional forum since some Embassies do not allow the USC to be at the interview. Russia does not; wouldn't have made any difference if I was there since I wouldn't have been allowed in.

Does it help that the petitioner is present during the interview? Yes, it does. Is it necessary to be there? No, it is not as plenty of beneficiaries

are approved provided they had all the required documents. I was there three months ago and hand carried all the required documents with

me. The interview experience went very well as it was more conversational than an interview. At least that was how I perceived it. It does

carry a lot of wieght IMO being there to support your future spouse and she will be more confident, relaxed, and less stressed...:D
