Hi to everyone, I'm confuse. I'm looking at a lot of people timeline process and I don't know if they are Permanent Resident or Citizen. the reason I want to know is because I see every timeline get respond from USCIS or NVC quick and I'm a permanent Resident as now, and I waited to get the I130 to be approve a Year. the status of my wife file right now in NVC but they haven't give me a Case number. I E-mail NVC and they email me back saying this:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC recently received this petition. The appropriate agent (applicant, petitioner, or attorney) will receive instructions for the further processing of this petition within 6 to 8 weeks.

I'm lost I don't know if I will get the Case # quick like other people. also If I'm a permanent resident and I file for my wife what type of file am I IR-1 or CR-1? I appreciate who ever share some experience with me.

02/02/2012 - Package Delivered to NVC

02/03/2012 - CASE COMPLETE

02/04/2012 - E-Mail My Certificate of Naturalization

02/07/2012 - Upgrading F2A to IR1 Under Review

02/08/2012 - Changed Classification of Category to CR1

03/02/2012 - Interview Scheduled for April 2nd :D

03/05/2012 - Packet 4 Left from NVC to Consulate throw DHL Express

03/07/2012 - Packet 4 Delivered

03/15/2012 - Medical Exam DONE

04/02/2012 - VISA APPROVED

04/03/2012 Packet in Transit DOMEX

04/04/2012 - VISA On Hand

04/19/2012 - Wife arriving to JFK Airport

It can take many years for a visa to become available for your wife since you are a permanent resident. The timelines that you see moving quick are that of US CITIZENS filing for CR-1 visas. As harsh as it sounds, you will be waiting a long time. Hope this helps. :star:

Yes Francis is absolutey correct, since u r PR u need to wait in the line when visa becomes available........keep praying when u get your citizenship then u update your status and that will speed up the process. hung on tight and it shall be well. Good Luck.

Like do you mean is your petition gonna basically sit around till a visa becomes available, yes. When you become a citizen let them know.
