You put it out there, the original context of which made it nonsensical. Like saying "I know about heart surgery because I'm an electrician".

My economics background gives me more than enough knowledge to discuss issues about the progress of a nation. Probably more so than a politician who may have studied politics, therefore studied how to win an election.. I never made a point or insinuated that I am smarter than anyone else or even that someone else is dumber than me.

Just curious - do you actually have a degree and if so what is it? Where did you get it from?

I would say that taxes do need to be raised, at least in the short term, to pay for a long overdue revamp of the nations education system, health system and infrastructure.. I was in DC and LA the other day and thought to my self, ###### the nation is physically turning into a s###whole...

Of course you probably still believe the story that Iraq was involved in the 9/11 incident AND they have "massive" stockpiles of current WMDs.

WMD was a failure on the intelligence part. You know, that same intelligence that some quoted criticizing Bush a day or so ago ..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

So who do you believe? Someone with a detailed knowledge of the issues who actually works in the intelligence community vs. someone who merely says everything is ok?

BTW - I'm still not convinced that Bush et al didn't 'fix' that intelligence. That was the basis of the criticism in the UK (of Blair), and I've seen little over here to change that view.

Well considering the number of times this issue has been thrashed out on here I'm not willing to regurgitate it all again. Are you?

My views on this haven't changed actually - I still think the pre-war intelligence was cherry picked by political officials to justify a war against a country that had no discernable links to terrorism AGAINST the advice of intelligence officials.

I was honestly curious... more curious about what school he went to - his views are way out there. Campus life for him must have been quite interesting.

In the sense that most students find their values at the bottom of a beercan, at least as much as anything that comes out of the lecture theatre ;) I can imagine many drunken rants at 4am.

PS After all democrats are saying it was wrong of the US to pretty much take any action unless of course it somehow got 20,000 troops, as stated by billy boy, into Pakistan to get Bin Laden...

You are so full of yourself. It's the disaster formerly known as Iraq that a majority of the people have issues with. That's where Bush and his gangsters fcuked up big time. I am not aware of anyone that opposed going after the perps of 9/11. They weren't in Iraq, though. And everyone knew it and everyone knows it. Only some will never see the light and keep living in denial about the illegal act of aggression Bush got this nation into needlessly and all that came from it thus far is is bound to come from it for decades ahead.

How did he manage to pass with all those liberal professors? Certainly not with his charm.

It seems that the 'Red States' are the ones who actually care about defending America. The irony is that democrat strong holds are the most likely targets. Yet it is the republicans who are trying to do everything they can to secure 'the democrats safety'...

Like what? Illegally tapping phones and doing a superb job of increasing the terrorist threat against the US by messing in places we have and never had no business of being? I want some of the ####### you're on.
