Hello,

I am a Filipina and I was married to a USC 6 years ago, after few months, the marriage did not work out so we both agreed to file for a divorce. He did file for Dissolution of Marriage , Multnomah County Courthouse granted it last 2007. I filed for Judicial Recognition of Foreign Divorce in 2009, the court granted my decision last May 2011. I got my court decision and finality. it is now being endorse to LCR (Local civil Registrar) Manila. However they didn't want to release my papers because aside from my divorce decree, which i got from vital records, and after having it authenticated by the Phil. Consulate in San Francisco, They are looking for the Court decision and court finality from Multnomah County Court, They said it should be attached with the divorce decree. . I don't know where to reach my ex-husband,so I am doing it on my own. my questions are, is there anyway to request for copies of these documents? Can my lawyer ask on my behalf? are there any sites where I could just click and see information about these inquiries? Please, any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Wow !

Question #1 .. Does your Divorce Decree have a seal/stamp signed and dated by the Multnomah County Clerk. (Cost is about $5.00) You need a NEW ONE

Sending a copy, not my experience. They wanted a Seal/Stamp dated and signed. My RFE indeed. They want an Updated Document if this is the Case.

I think your authorized representitive can mail for this. Attorney.

But, I'm unsure if this is what your asking for.

A True Stamp/Seal with the Courthouse Clerk Initials is not available Online

Yes it has the Seal and stamp of Oregon Public Health. When I asked for my divorce decree copies online, they sent me the same divorce decree my ex-husband sent to me. (he also used the divorce decree copy to be able to petition his current wife now,) but they are looking for the court decision/court finality copies. I don't know what to do anymore :(

thank you very much for the reply.

OK. They are looking for the full dissolution of the the marridge. Property and full Documents.

Public Health Authority. HINDI. They want A Signed Document with a Seal/Stamp , Signature from the Court./ County Clerk. Thats my guess.

They want to know legally if you are free to marry.

There is a charge for this to go into the Archives and sign and stamp.

I thought Multnomah County was Oregon. Raining all the time. Like now.

SEND THE ORIGINAL ONLY and ASK the Clerk to sign in Blue Ink since the Documents will be in Black and White.

Your Divorce Decree is at the Couthouse and not the Public Health Authority

Oh okay, I thought the one i got from Vital Records is enough proof . I will have to find some other way. Maybe ask for copies from Multnomah court website,or send a letter to the courthouse, I just don't know if the Decision and finality will be attached to the decree. I am sorry, it wasn't public health, my mistake. and Thanks again.

most court houses are now online but mine would not let me order divorce records online. You may have to call or email them and they can say how many pages it is and tell you the price per copy , form of payment and send a self addressed stamped envelope. knowing your divorce file number or record number would be good, but they might look it up under both names and the year it was done. be sure to say you want certified copies.
