Consulate Review: Manila, Philippines
Review Topic: General Review
Event Description
Review Date : April 27, 2012
Embassy Review : Me and my friend Madilyn stayed at Lotus Garden hotel.we got at the embassy around 4:30, the line for k1 was already long. they started letting us in around 6;20AM,
they asked for passport, appointment letter, DS-156,DS-157,DS-156k. they arranged it and handed me back the papers and my passport, then I proceeded to the xray scan area, I didn't bring anything except for my papers, so it was fast.then I proceeded to window 3, dropped my papers, and they gave me a queuing number, (6033) and asked me to drop the papers to window 39, there was a guy who collected the paper, so it was easier again, took a seat and waited for my numbers.
after 15 mins, my number flased and i went to window 40 for finger scanning. she asked my name and my birthdate, then i was done and was told to wait for my number to be called again.
After 30 mins, my number flashed again and this time, its at window 53, for the filipino pre screener. she was nice and soft spoken.
she asked me for my :
birth certificate,
cemar,
nbi (2 with akas)
divorce decree (i was previously married)
She asked me about the previous petition I had , i said they were all withdrawn,
I-134 affidavit of support,
Itr 2011.

Then she asked me to sign the 156 AND 156K, while i was signing, she asked:
Whats your petitioner's name?
When did you meet?where?
How many times did he visit you? when's the first time? the second time?
do you have any photos with you ? i said yes, any emails? i said yes but she didnt take them, she told me to put them together and show the consul for final interview, and was told to wait for my number again...

after 30 mins, I was called at window 63. The consul\s a young chinese american lady, very very pretty but she look so serious she doesn't smile at all!
She greeted me Good morning and asked me to raised my right hand, for the oath.. then she asked,
What's you name?
what's your petitioner's name?
What does he do for a living?
(she was looking at I-134 and ITR)
then she flipped through my papers and saw my divorce decree..
You were married? to an american? where? Have you ever been out of the country? Where does your ex lives now?
This is your divorce decree? where is the court ored and decision? this is all you got? (I told her thats all i got and she seem not to convince)
(MY DIVORCED WAS AT THE PROCESS OF ANNOTATION AT NSO, FOR I GOT IT RECOGNIZED HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES,)so I showed her the copy of finality and court order that i filed for judicial recognition here but she said thats not the one she was looking for. ( i got really nervous)
she handed me the papers back.

Where and when did you meet?
When did you meet in person?
for how long?
Has he visited you again since?
when? and for how long?
When do you plan to get married? I said probably JUne, if i get approved.

Then she said, ALRIGHT, YOUR VISA IS APPROVED. please wait for your number to be called for further instructions. I thank her and went back to my seat! I was relieved!

She didn't asked for any pphotos, emails, or anything that i brought, lol. uggh but its a good thing!

I waited for my number to be called at window 73, the guy gave me my appt letter and told me to pick up my visa and that I can go home! i went home 9am. Thanks be to God!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
