Stayed out more than 6 month

My wife went back to Thailand in March, so she's been out of the country (USA) for coming up on 8 months. She has a conditional GC. To come back in what, if any, special form or papers does she need or I need to file? What would happen if she bought a plane ticket in Thailand flew back? Would the officials at the airport here deny her entry to America? Thanks for any help.

The only thing she should do is make sure that 8 months doesn't turn into over a year.

What happens after a year? So before a year is up she can re-enter no problem? I was under the impression that 6 months out of the country was allowed only. Thanks.

Under 6 months she will have no trouble at all., 6 months to a year she may get some questioning, and it would be useful for her to have some proof she is still a US resident (her name on a lease, bills, valid drivers license etc), but if it's her first time staying out then it should be no problem. Over a year she will very, very likely be denied re-entry unless she has a re-entry permit.
