CR1 Maiden Name VS Spouse Lastname

Hi All I jst want to share what happened to my case that was filled under my maiden name.

Got married JAnuary 2011 and Filled MArch for I 130

I used my maiden name since this will work for me best sicne i wanted to file I 130 ASAP.

I used my maiden name in all of my papers, that includes my passport. Well im happy to tell you guys

i already have my VISA on hand under my maiden name and im off to US on November 8th.

03-08-2011 I130 USCIS filed Approved on 101st day

06-20-2011 NOA2 APPROVED

07-20-2011 NVC

08-12-2011 paid AOS

08-20-2011 paid IV Bill

09-06-2011 NVC recieved DS230

09-09-2011 Cased CLOSED

09-19-2011 Medical exam

10-17-2011 Interview MNL consulate VISA Approved!!!

10-20-2011 VISA on HAnd

10-21-2011 CFO sticker

11-08-2011 MNL departure to US

11-09-2011 Arrived in US

11-21-2011 Recieved green card

12-23-2011 US Drivers license

12-26-2011 Got a new car HEHEHHE

01-09-2012 Got My first Job Interview and i Got the Job YEEPEEE

We stuck with maiden name and will change at interview.

Congrats! :) I also filed using my maiden name and had no problems. Have no intention of changing my name.

USCIS: CR-1 Visa @ Vermont Service Center (Approved in 140 days from NOA1)

03/07/11: I-130 package sent to Chicago Lockbox

03/14/11: NOA1 via text and email (03/21/11: in the mail); petition routed to VSC

07/27/11: NOA2 via text and email (07/30/11: received in the mail)

08/01/11: Case received at NVC

09/19/11: Case complete and forwarded to consulate

10/19/11: Interview (APPROVED!!!)

11/18/11: POE

12/12/11: 2- year Green Card arrives in the mail

12/22/11: Applied for SSN at local office

12/26/11: SSN arrives in the mail

08/20/13: ROC window opens

10/03/13: I-751 package sent to Vermont Service Center

10/05/13: I-751 Delivered (Signed for by Karen Fitzgerald)

10/09/13: Check cleared bank account

10/11/13: NOA1 received (dated 10/07/13)

10/19/13: Biometrics appointment notice received (dated 10/16/13)

11/12/13: Biometrics appointment in Buffalo, NY

11/15/13: Case transferred to CSC

03/04/14: USCIS case status update: Card/Document Production (i.e. APPROVED!!!)

03/07/14: USCIS case status update: Green Card in the postal system; tracking number

03/08/14: Approval notice arrives in the mail (dated 03/04/2014; USCIS Office: Buffalo, NY)

03/10/14: 10-year Green Card arrives in the mail

This is with my case here in my country. What I know your passport and VISA application should have same name .I got thru it we'll jst change when i get to US . Goodluck :D

Thank you! I'm still thinking of changing or using hypenated name. hahaha.

That's what we originally planned as well, however it looks like you would have to wait 2 yrs until removal of condition or change right away but pay $500..

So right now, I'm trying to have my passport renewed with my married name so visa will also be under my married name, then green card as well.. NSO unfortunately is giving us a hard time.. Hoping everything goes well..

If you fall under CR1 then Yes all will have 2 yrs conditional status till the petitioner removed it.
