I am back with an other subject... My fiance it is self-employed, on his 2010 tax returns it shows less than the money he makes now, in 2011. We can prove that and people from embassy can see that he makes more with the bank statments, the bank letter and the last pay stubs. All this shows that he makes around $30.000. Would we have a problem if the 2010 tax shows less than the proverty guidlines but the 2011 income and the bank stuff shows he makes way much more than they requierd wich as i know for 2 people is $18.000? Please help me! Thank you very much in advance!

He should not. Typically CURRENT income is considered far more important.

That said, the affidavit of support issue is an art, not a science. The guidelines are just that...guidelines. They are NOT "goal lines" The guidelines do not even apply to the I-134 used for visa interviews but most consulates use the guidelines as...guidelines.

This means that no one here can say "Oh yeah, he will be fine" What I can say is that many many people have been approved with the same circumstances. I am not aware of Romania being more difficult on such matters than other consulates.
