thats fine, but I am just asking a general question, pls dont try and make this some formal thing its only for people that want to comment if it doesnt apply to you, then dont respond, thanks

I was given a 221g refusal slip for an additional document on my interview last Sept 14 and responded to it in 2 days and my case in on 15th day of CO's review. JimVaPhuong though has a very smart advice about this, AP is a very Consulate specific, the experiences varies per region, that is if u wanna hear info's to get heed and not just build an emotional support group

Hi all.. We all know abt AP and how it seems to be endless.. I am just trying to gain perspective so how many of you are in AP and for how long have you been? We have been for almost 3 weeks New Delhi Embassy, what about you? Not that misery loves company but at least you know you are not alone!!

Sherry

Well not sure when it happened, but in Greece embassy yes AP i think? They say case sent to USCIS again. not enough

proof but they would not ask for any nor did they take any when asked. So very confused and not sure.

9/14/2011 email saying case going back. They said case was send back some time ago before 9/14/2011.

Not sure where case is or what is happenning? Yes I called alot to see about case. They made promises

and said it should be very soon, what a lie. Two months past first interview. What is going on here?

Loosing lots of sleep and not able to eat, just waiting and praying. So much going on...

I pray this to be over soon. I pray that everyone going thru this has a speedy answer by his grace..

Currently.... they have issued Ice the incorrect GC and we have tried 4 times to fix it. First time they had us send it to the incorrect address. Second time they said we used an expired form, which was the form they gave us. Third time was "oh sorry we lost the last page, can you send it again?." Fourth time is the gov is shut down. Will this ever be corrected in time for Ice to get the permanent GC? Stay tuned to find out. T_T

Over 8 weeks in New Delhi.

I tricked the DOS into admitting it's a background check, so at least I now know that much.

Someone else from India just got out of AP after 3.5 months but I think it was form Mumbai.

I think your AP is more related to checking the validity of the relationship, those seem to go faster so hopefully you'll be out soon.

ANYONE ELSE WHO POSTS - if you know why you're in AP, can you share that too so that we can get a feel for the time it takes based on if it's background check related or other. Thanks!

7th week under AP.

How are you able to tricked DOS? that's a good one...

The most frustrating thing mostly is when we don't know why are we under AP.

Usually AP lasts for 60 days and according to the information I got from NVC website if after 60 days you still didn't get your visa you can call and follow up with them. If it is less than 60 days all they can tell you is that it is under AP and i was told that it is an internal process and you cannot call or follow up with any office. I tried to call NVC and USCIS but they both told me to call the embassy where my fiance lives and when I called the embassy all they can tell you is that it is still under AP. I am still waiting for my fiance's visa up to now and it's been 3 weeks now.

I wouldn't be so abrasive towards that fellow, if I were you. He is brilliant, and you may very well need his advice one day. On top of that, he was giving valuable advice regarding your posted topic for anyone who would be wise enough to heed it. Thanks, JimVaPhuong - I will keep that in mind should I get hit with AP in the future.

good.gifgood.gifgood.gif And Jim is the first guy ever to respond to my queries 16 mos ago. i won't forget. Thanks, Jim!

After 60 days do you think next time we call they can give us an answer why were on AP?

thanks

So I got this as a status today. As of 27-Sep-2011, your passport is required for additional processing. Please submit the documents listed below to the US Embassy via Aramex within 90 days of the date listed above. Barring unforeseen circumstances that may require additional processing, we hope to adjudicate your application within five to fourteen days from the date we receive your passport. Click here for more information on the Aramex Courier Service. Thank you. Is this good or bad?

I would say pretty good! why would they need your passport if you were going to be denied?
