Hi,

Express mailed my documents to my fiance, but theyve not been received and his interview is coming up next week. I'm panicking. Can I send/scan copies of the documents (including notarized ones) and have him deposit them at the embassy? Or should I redo all the documents so I have originals (I sent the originals) and then overnight them ($120!)?.....I want them to be accepted and get there as quickly as possible. Please help!

Should also mention - its been 10 days since the express stuff was mailed (postman assured me 3-5 days)...so I'm kinda assuming it's not coming and I need to pursue another option.

Hi just to be safe i would redo them again and send it again, do you have DHL? you can track everything online with them, i used it twice and it was there safely.

P.S. they will ask for origionals at the interview..

when you sent them express mail.. did you not get a tracking number with it? or just put stamps on it and sent it on its way?

Yes, I got a tracking number. The track & confirm online only goes through its departure from the USA - and I called the 1-800 number, they said they'd do an inquiry, but that it would take 1-5 days (we dont really have 5 days).

I sent off paper work the same way to haryana,INDIA and it took a little longer than that, like 12 days, but I did send it on a friday, hope that helps. I would imagine its india but takes a bit of time for them to do what they need to to get it delivered, i also put his mobile number

on the outside of the package, did u insure it?

9/17/2013 called NVC case was completed as of today

10/1/2013 rec'd interview letter and date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

11/4/2013 INTERVIEW

RESULT....APPROVED!!!

11/12/2013 email to pick up visa!!!

09/09/15-12/2016 ROC +interview= appproved in over a year

12/21/2016 fedex'd N-400 application and per fedex was rec'd

If you do re-send, look into an option where you can see overseas tracking. I've used USPS & FedEx before and have always been able to see when things are delivered, signed, etc. overseas.

FexEx was $54 bucks. 3 day delivery. I would also check out DHL. I think they might be cheaper and same thing..3 days delivery.

i was going to suggest something that i saw elsewhere, the tracking number usps gives you should also work on the indian mail carriers website )at least what i read somewhere else on the forum) but alas i was too late!
