You have no timeline and don't give any details in this post. What consulate are you going through? More info can help folks get you answers.

Since you posted in the K1 forum, are you applying for a fiance visa? Please fill in your profile and timeline so we can help you better.

If it is a fiance visa, no invitation letter is needed, but you and your fiance should prepare an updated Letter of Intent to Marry.

The invitation letter would be the letter you receive from the consulate giving instructions on how to set up an appointment and saying that your fiancee visa case is ready for processing. If you receive a letter (or confirmation) after setting up the appointment then bring that, too. When my wife went through the process she just had to show up in Ciudad Juarez and there was no specific appointment. Just long lines.

I would also recommend looking at the consulate's website: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/hivfiance/ That gives a good overview of the process and you can also view & print out the fiancee packet they send.

Hello I going to be going to the cuidad juarez consulate,i haven't yet scheduled the interview but will very soon and i have read on here that they ask for the invitation letter and appointment confirmation letter.

They will send an invitation letter (the fiance in the US is usually the only one that ends up receiving this) that tells you to go to the consulate page and get the instructions and forms from here: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/K1%20PACKET%20COMPLETE%20_July2011%20UPDATES_.pdf

You will be making your appointments and paying before you go. You will need the invitation letter they send you, and your confirmation letter from making the appointments when you go to your fingerprinting, medical and visa appointments. The link I posted above gives you all the instructions on what forms you need and what to bring to the interview. This page has form downloads: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html
