Hi

Well me and hubby made the long drive to Calgary yesterday to file our I-130. We were there first thing this morning. I couldn't believe how easy it was. We went through security and after that our number was called within minutes to the cashier to hand in the forms. About 5 minutes later we were called up to give supporting documents to a very nice lady who approved us on the spot. We then waited another 10 minutes to be called back to the cashier to pay our $190 which we did in money order and we were on our way and was told they were sending our I-130 to Montreal today! It was almost too easy to believe! So no we are officially in the process.

They only asked for my drivers license and my birth certificate. I had so much more with me but they didn't even ask for it.

Ok, I called Toronto to ask because I don't have a CA drivers license and don't intend on getting one, the lady was really nice, she said bring your PR card and social and anything else that'll prove you live there (I don't have OHIP cuz I have insurance thru hubby's work, so I didn't apply)

How long have you been a resident in canada? (sorry for all the Qs but getting ready to do this too)

No problem! I have been a PR of Canada since 04/04. I made copies of my PR card for the app but they gave it back to me and just asked for my Drivers. I also had my SIN and Manitoba medical card with me as proof that I do reside in Canada.
