Then they have your email address both on your case and in that poor fellow's case. I guess that guy will call NVC and will figure this out, if he has not seen this message.

Don't do it - learn from my experience (my 8/15 closed case was reopened and closed again on 8/31 because of my email - fortunately by God's grace I still got October interview date)

I sent it as soon as I got my Case number and IIN and provided them with our email addresses. Also check if you are able to login to the payment portal and pay the AOS fee (use petitoner, Case number and IIN to login) https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx

I guess the NVC has a new way of processing the papers... You cannot send them the choice of agent without paying the fee first. I'm not certain though... I hope some members can shed some light for this issue...

Actually the DS-3032 email and AOS fee go parallel and have no link to each other till case complete stage. I guess in your case the case details have not yet been fully entered into the system. Yes, NVC will not process anything until the case is fully entered into their system. I hence asked you to check if the payment portal allows you to pay the AOS fee. If it allows that means your case has been entered manually by them and then you can also send DS-3032. Don't always wait as per the timelines given by NVC.

NavyK, you have been very helpful on the forums and I (and I'm sure everyone else here) appreciate your insights and quick replies to issues and problems that others face. But I must say I disagree completely that the OP should not report the mistake to NVC. Unlike your case, OP's case has barely begun at NVC so there is no issue about reopening or delaying the case.

Someone in Turkey in the IR5 preference category has been waiting years for their priority date to become current and you really want the OP to just pretend they didn't see the email? Seriously? :ranting:

Anyone with a conscience would report it.

You are right - nothing should affect the OP, as this is a different situation. Me&hubby the ball is in your court - do what is right and you should be fine.
