Clearance time for pending CR1 visa..?

Hii everyone.. I am wife of US citizen.. I am from India.I already had B1/B2 visa before i got engaged and had travelled to USA once. I had my CR1 visa interview on 18th august at mumbai consulate. Interview was good but after interview I was handed over 221g white form in which ' We are doing administrative procedure and we will contact you when done' is ticked. I am also given a letter which ask me to submit invitation letter from petitioner, my resume, my research details, list of publication, purpose of going US,itinerary, who is going to fund my trip and details of my international travels in last ten years except USA. I submitted everything in one email as asked to me by officer..

I have done M.Pharm.. My question is that is it bcos of my education that am given 221g letter and asked to submit all details..

Its already 3 weeks and i have not got any reply from consulate..they have cancelled my B1/B2 visa.

Is anyone having similar experience and what is the clearance time in such case ..any idea..? pls help..

It could be. You should have an above average knowledge of chemistry as you did your Pharmacy degree and have done research.

They just want to make sure your name clears and you don't have any ties with any sources the DHD is going after to stop with the current war on terror.

It could be just more extensive background checks/name checks.

They will be doing extensive checks on BOTH of you not just yourself to make sure the information you provided them is true and valid.

Hang tight...I am sure you will get your passport in the mail soon. :)

They gave my passport back at the time of interview..so i have to submit it at vfs office when they ask me to do so..

Hi,

I have got the similar letter under similar section.

Do they called any of your professional reference or any idea if they did conduct any inquiry regarding your resume, research, etc etc..

please guide me if any thing i should take care of before sending documents to them?
