I got my biometrics appointment letter in the post today

There's not too much to the appointment right? Just finger prints and photos? I hear you have to fil out some forms, what sort of information do you need to provide?

But the main thing I need to know is, how long does it take?

We've got to plan the schedule for the day as my wife works around that time and she needs to move some appointments so she can take me down there.

Congrats! The biometrics is just finger prints and photo, You will fill out a form(basic info. that you fill out with most forms) that you turn into the counter lady/man and they will give a number that tells your turn, and then you fill out a basic feedback form(how you were treated, recommendations, etc about 2-3 questions), and your done.

As for documents I think you will need to bring I.D., the appointment letter, and some other documents(should tell you on the appointment letter, if ever in doubt call the uscis number). Im not 100% sure if this is all you need but this is what i remember from my appointment.

Hoped I helped a little. Good Luck!

That helps, any idea how long I might be there for?

Typical that we get our appointment on a busy day, if it'd been a Tuesday we'd be free all day

Took me about 30 minutes total... From waiting, to actually being seen, etc.

I guess it depends on the location and how "booked" they are. Maybe plan on being there for 2 hours, tops? That's what I'd do if I was planning other things as well. JUSTTTT in case. You never know!

And with the form... Basic stuff. The terrible question they ask is how much you weigh O_O

It will depend on how many other people are also there waiting to have biometrics. We did a walkin in the afternoon and nobody was there, so out in 10 minutes. You know many, many people are successful doing a walk-in. If it's not a long drive, you could plan to go on an afternoon (this Tuesday) and see if they take you. Go after lunch because if they are busy in the mornings, they may say they can't take you.

Passport

Appointment letter (they use the barcodes on it)

Maybe you fill out a form, maybe not at your office. It's kinda like signing in at a doctors office. Sometimes they hand you a clipboard and say fill this out. We didn't actually, since nobody was there, they just sent him back to the machines.

I had one take less then 10 minutes, and one take about 2 hours, it depends on how busy they are, Hopefully you will catch a good day were they're not busy and you can finish in less then 20 minutes. Good Luck
