Ok so I called today and NVC has my petition..... however they told me it takes 10-20 business days to load it in their system... :crying: . So I questioned the rep "does it mean it will take 10-20 days to for my petition to arrive in Haiti?" Then she asks well what type of petion is it? I tell her K1" So she says again "It takes 10-20 days to load it in our system....before we can discuss the case with you. "Is there anything else I can help you with?" I chuckled then asked when will it be forwarded to Haiti?" again she repeats the famous script " It takes 10-20 days...yadda yadda yadda. Is there anything else I van help you with?" I answered politely and said I will call back and find someone elses who can help...because she was not answereing my question...She told me to have a nice day...:bonk:

I thought once the case gets to NVC it is then forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Haiti within days...The good news is it is there...One step closer. I am going to review the timeline to see how long it takes for NVC to forward the case to the Embassy...Hang in there. You all will get the next peice of news you are waiting for soon...

Ok so here's the update.

NVC STILL DOESN'T HAVE MY CASE.

And so I decided to go back to the USCIS website and see if some events happened on my case since it was approved on 08/31/2011.

Guess what, it shows it was last touched on 09/07/2011.

That was two days ago. Does this mean it is still potentially sitting at Vermont?

If you too are waiting for your case to show up at the NVC, I suggest you also check your case status with the USCIS and see if there was any "touch" movement since the date it was approved. I suspect VSC is slowing down on sending the approved petitions.

magen,

It's quite possible that what you state is the case. StvM is also in the same boat as me. Both approved on Aug 31, 2011, and when logged into uscis.gov, it should last updated as of "09/07/2011."

I really hope they have sent the petition to NVC. I just lost a few days because of this kind of bureaucracy.

NVC as I've noticed is MUCH MUCH better at customer care. I called the USCIS 800 number to see what is still being done with my case (as a result of noticing the 09/07/2011 update/touch). They gave me the same old canned response which I so hate. Firstly, the printed on my Approval notice that the petition was forwarded to the consulate, and anyone carefully following their I-129F case will tell you that these petitions HAVE TO go through NVC before the Embassy. I had such a bitter conversation, nearly hung up from Level 2 Customer Care saying "Great, so you managed to tell me absolutely nothing new about my case."

I'm just hoping that 09/07/2011 means it was shipped out and not something else. Now I wait.
