Hello to all of you!

I got engaged a few months ago and I met my fiance in person not too long ago. I am planning to apply for my fiance. I really need your help and suggestions. My question is, if it is possible and safe to start the application process on my owne or do I need to hire an attorney? I have looked through the required forms, they don't look to difficult to fill out, but I am more concern about all the require proofs that I am supposed to submit with the paperwork. Would anyone please tell me what proofs of our relationship is needed? And how start writing about how my fiance and I met? Again please I need your help. Anything you guys can share on how to start the paperwork will greatly be appreciated.

Thank you guys and God bless all of you

There is an entire step by step guide. Please read the guide it tells you everything you need. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

most people on VJ just follow the guide and do everything themselves. They also have example forms.

Basically you need all kind of proofs that you feel showing the relationship. Basically pictures, postage, gifts, phone call and email records are common. You can also include flight record, receipts from your visit and gifts like money sent receipts. For the writing part, there is no any particular way of writing however you need to include the time you were there, how and when you met are the basic information you can include on the part that you have to write.

Good Luck

In our I-129f package we included boarding passes, hotel receipts, passport stamps, flight itinerary and pictures. And during our interview I brought our printed emails, few screenshots of our chat logs, and pictures. And for the writing part my fiance made a small paragraph explaining how we met and his first visit in Philippines. We didn't hire an attorney as it costs a lot of money! We filled out the forms and used the example forms guide.

Plus this website is really helpful. Try to read and learn a lot :)

Good luck to both of you!
