Hi,

My fiancee's visa has been approved by the USCIS and the interview has been set in Rio for October 31, 2011. I am wondering about the timeline we have to get her here once the visa has been issued. I am currently in school and have very limited time to go to Brazil, and she wants me to go get her. I hope everything falls into place so I can get her on my winter break, but just in case...Is there a time limit as to how long we can wait before she comes? I know we will have 90 days to be married once she gets here, but that's the only time limit I see.

Also I have not been asked for the support forms, what do I need to do?

Thanks for any insight,

Tye

1) NICE NAME

The visa is valid for 6 months if i am not mistaken. so she has 6 months from the time she gets the visa until it expires and she will no longer be able to enter the US on that visa. The support forms will be presented at the interview so start talking to more people who are interviewing in Brazil and they can give you insight on packets 3 and 4 for the interview.

good luck with everything,

Tye (also my name lol)

Yes, six months should be correct. Check the visa once she gets it to be sure there is not an earlier expiration date on it. With the interview at the end of October, you would only be waiting a couple of months to go get her (it sounds like), so you would be fine. My fiance was approved in the beginning of September, but didn't come until the middle of November. Good luck with the interview!

She must enter the US within 6 months from visa issuance. The expiration date is on the visa and she must enter BEFORE that date. You will have 90 days to marry from when she arrives.

Nothing. Packet 4 is a confirmation letter of your interview appointment. You may or may not get it. It is not necessary.
