My wife got 221g green paper, then on the bottom it says your case requires additional processing. Is there still hope? or are they going to wait 2 months and tell denied. We have marriage certificate and proof of relationship, basically alot of mistakes were made and she was a nervous wreck at the interview. We got them everything they asked for,we even had to resend and retype the timeline exactly the way they wanted it. I have one question? should I e-mail the consulate 3 times a week?,or dont bother them? I dont want to make them angry. Please help if you can.I've been to Vietnam 3 times and was with her for the interview,we both were interviewed at the window. It was very different than I thought it would be.They asked us both questions seperately. If they want to check they can check we are not hiding anything. What can I do?

Still hope.. read the AP topic in VN regional..its pinned...do not email the 3 times a week as that will just piss them off and they wont respond to any of your emails after a while of that.

There is still hope. You could email the consulate couple week later to find out about your case but it could take weeks for them to reply back. What kind of mistakes does she made?

What is likely to happen next depends entirely on the reason behind the 221G, what they requested and why. Without that knowledge only platitudes are available.

What mistakes we made at the interview?I flew to VN for my 3rd trip, first trip with sister who introduced us,Any way I was there to be with her for her interview,I was supposed to help her get everything ready and prepare for the interview, she has 4 year old daughter, so distracted by the cute baby girl assumed she had everything ready. We did not have timeline which I knew we needed from visajourney or would not pass. They interviewed me too, which I was not prepared for, everything I heard was they just interview her, they asked me what date was our wedding celebration at resturaunt I said june 2 Iwas supposed to say june 6,then she asked me what hotel we were staying at,I could not remember name. Then she asked my wife,How did you meet your husband?, She being super nervous says "we meet 1 year ago" CO says no calm down "how did you meet your husband? "we meet 1 year ago. everthing else she answered ok.they gave her white slip, wanting timeline,10 year residency for her,10 years for me,info on her ex-husband,info of her sister, all notorized,we got it all,she bring back because it said on the timeline I have read understand and solemly declare that info is true,,,they wanted us to do again saying I have written, understand and solemly swear,,,,anyway for 1 word another 50 dollars and 1 week before she recieve and go back,to embassy,,thats when she got green paper, says our case needs additional processing.I sent paper for her to bring saying that I meant to say june 6 for wedding dinner party, typed out very nice just to clear that up.We do everything we have to do in june Vietnamese courthouse interview, pictures, hospital stuff, etc. then they say I have to come back before the end of august to sign marriage certificate or we would have to start all over again,so I come VN sign marriage book.......................We did not have church wedding because my family cannot come to Vietnam,,but we have marriage certificate,we will have small wedding in USA possibly Hawaii, but for sure. The lawyers over in VN tell her I should e-mail 3 times a week and a lawyer here said NO dont do anything. I am a little confused,. I have only e-mailed 1 time a week so far,2 times,,I will wait now????

the red flag that needs investigating is the previous marriage. They will likely treat it the same as our case... as long as there are no negative results in the investigation you should be fine.. be prepared to have a long wait before they make a decision...it could be a year or more... or it could only be a few months.

Additional processing = Additional waiting Hell, what a Nightmare, the CO never liked my wife,I could tell,we saw her a few days after the interview,we were getting the paperwork notorized at the embassy, she was getting coffee across the street,I even said a polite hello to her. After we made everything perfect, she sent us into AP Delay. How Long before they make decision? I tried e-mail them........, Nothing...........,whats next crystal ball? What a terrific system. My advice is to do everything perfect. or else your paperwork will be floating in paper outerspace like ours. The embassy dont care,,,,more money, time, effort, life, wasted time, slipping by,not being able to be with the one you Love. Thanks to all the scammers who screwed the system up and made it nearly impossible to get my babe over here.
