@kc247: I have a Feb 2014 date and I would like a sooner one ,but I think we do have to cancel existing one to view calendar. But this message is a bit confusing too..

If you need to reschedule for a different date/time within the existing trip purpose, select 'Reschedule Appointment' below. To change your trip purpose, you must first cancel your existing appointment (select 'Cancel Appointment') and schedule a new one.

so the trip purpose is K-1 ,if I click reschedule it gives me only dates on or after the day that has already been scheduled. would rather not cancel and risk losing date

Hope there was another way around it :(

Click reschedule appointment, when it says "the next available appt for your trip purpose is..." then you can refresh that page and it will update itself though. I have been doing it since Friday as much as I can every day (which is a lot!) and nothing sooner has come up, I did get Feb 4th instead of Feb 10th, but that is as early as I have got!

Well I just got a date... not till the beginning of March...nothing else was available... I am beside myself. My wedding has been booked for March 16th and I had no idea an interview would take five months. Any tips? I guess I'll just be calling everyday in hopes of getting something else.

Exactly why it is best to not set a date in stone until you at least have the interview date (even better the visa in hand), though either way it shouldn't be set in stone since AP can still happen! We were hoping for December 20th for a date, just cause that was when he had his Christmas break from school. Just hoping though, never booked anything. So unfortunately we will have to aim for the end of February instead.

Just keep checking.. you could get one for February still and it will give you more time to get your passport back!

Yes... I of course realize this but am a little heart broken regardless at the moment and there's nothing I can really change now. But we're hopeful and praying lots ha!

Yes. Every spare second I had, I would click 'reschedule my appt' and it would say how soon the next available appointment was. Keep hoping and wishing and praying. I was able to move up my appt 2 months 1 day later (after 3 weeks of no appts available!)

Best of luck!

Is the cost to schedule the interview now $240 USD instead of $350?

Yup, cost for k1 is $240 usd.

I went to to Dr. Mascarenhas this Wednesday. The receptionist told me it would take 3 to 4 days to for the medical package to be ready to be picked up. I received a call the day after my medical saying that my package was ready to be picked up. I haven't picked it up yet, but did it take this quick for you all too? I assume that everything went well, as the doctor said that they'd call me if something was wrong.

awesome thanks for the response. Another question, my interview is on November 13th. My Fiance requested tax transcripts from the IRS but I don't know if we will even have them in time since we just did that yesterday. I have print outs of the 1040 forms that he filed as well as W2's. Is this sufficient or do we NEED the transcripts? Also, if we need the transcripts can he walk into an IRS building and have them print out the transcripts right then and there? Really worried right now...

Just wanting to be clear:

If I paid the $240 MRV fee while scheduling my interview with CSC - I don't need to bring any cash/make any payments while in Montreal - correct?

Thanks in advance!

They very much want the Tax Transcripts from the IRS as it carries more weight than your 1040's and W2's. That being said, the official Packet 4 for MTL states:

q. Proof of Financial Support (Form I-134) and photocopy of supporting documents (IRS transcript or photocopy of the most recent Federal income tax return, bank statements, employment pay slips, etc.)

I read that to mean: if you're not bringing the official stuff, bring everything. We brought tax transcripts, employer letter, W2's, and 2 months of pay stubs.

If you paid the fee online, you do not need to bring any cash/make any payments.

Yes, that is how I read it too! My fiance is going to (hopefully) drive an hr away to an IRS location and get the transcripts printed out. We have his W2's and 1040s along with paystubs, bank statements for the past year, letter from the bank, letter of employment etc. But I will feel much better going in with everything PLUS official transcripts! Thanks for your help!
