When you say you "filed a K1 visa", do you mean you sent in the application? If so, they will cash your check somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks later and then, in about 4 weeks you will receive a Notice of Action (NOA1). After much waiting, typically 4 to 5 months, you will receive an NOA2 stating whether of not they approved or denied your application. if you are approved there will be some information exchange between you guys and the government and an interview will be scheduled. If they find that your relationship is legit - visa approval!

They will let you know everything you need to have. I recommend that you read all of the information available on this site and create a timeline for your profile. It will help you keep track and will also help other people keep track of timeline changes. It's a lot of reading, but knowledge is power.

Hi

First off I would double check what you wrote down in the application as you did not have the correct spelling Colombia in your post. It is Colombia and not Columbia. I'm just giving you a hard time  .

If you just submitted the K-1 app plan on waiting about 5 to 7 months for NOA 2. Next it takes another month or so to get the interview date and during that time you got many documents to get together. Get a jump on it now as the time moves very quickly!

Good luck to you.
