We had our biometrics appointment today. The appointment notice says to bring two things: the appointment notice and a photo ID. We brought the notice and my wife's passport. The first thing they asked for when we got there was our marriage certificate. They said without it, all the paperwork would be in my wife's maiden name. We had to come home and get the marriage cert and go back. Thankfully, they took us right away and we did not have to wait for another appointment. Just an hour wasted....

We did the same thing. Thankfully though, the manager at the facility allowed my wife to go through without the marriage certificate. We're attaching a copy to her passport from now on.

Just ran into the same problem. They wouldn't even do the biometrics without the original marriage certificate (wouldn't accept a copy either). Wish that they would have listed this on the appointment notice...

They don't list marriage certificate as a requirement for biometrics but I think it goes without saying that it is necessary when your biometrics letter is in married name and your ID is still in maiden name. How else will they verify that the person on biometrics notice is the same person as on ID if the names don't match?

I had my biometrics in Honolulu and they didn't ask for my marriage certificate too. I guess it depends in every office. But I carried all my documents with me just in case :)
