When I say 7 months, I mean 7 MORE months. We're already 3 months into the K1 visa process.

I think if couples can get through this stress together, they can make it through anything!!! Good luck to you guys and everyone out there waiting!!! It's nice to have this forum to complain and get advice from people experiencing the same thing.

USA

01/08/13 - Approved and GC is order for production on 1/8/14

09/12/13 - Case transferred to CSC. NOA2 received on 09/18/13

08/30/13 - Biometrics Done - No walk ins allowed at this LSC (received on 8/16/13).

08/05/13 - NOA1 (received on 08/10/13)

08/01/13 - Mailed I-751 (received on 8/2/13 - check cashed on 8/5/13)

12/28/11 - Received SSN (applied on 12/20/11, as we didn't get based on DS-230 options)
11/28/11 - Received Green Card (Expires on 10/30/13) - Welcome Letter on 11/17/11
10/30/11 - POE - Houston, TX

Chennai Consulate (40 days)
10/28/11 - Received Visa papers and Passport at VFS
10/25/11 - Interview Cleared Successfully (Spouse was not allowed in)

NVC: (90 days from NOA2 to Consulate)
08/31/11 - Case Completed (Interview 10/25/11) - Received at Chennai on 09/19/11
07/22/11 - NVC Case Number

USCIS: (92 days)

6/21/11 - NOA2 (NOA1 on 3/25/11) - took a month to get to NVC
3/21/11 - I-130 sent to USCIS Lockbox, Chicago.

Thank you for all the input. My fiancé has updated you all haha We are moving the wedding to accommodate the processing time of the k1 visa. We both agree with what has been said in terms of the fact that it would be rediculously silly for me to go over, get married, only to have to return to the UK to then file for the spouse visa.

Thank you for the help on the time line as well. If I get an interview date in november/december we are good to go :D

Based on your current timeline and current trends if I was putting money down it would be for a December interview. I can't imagine it taking as long as March with how things are moving currently (someone pelase correct me if I am wrong!).. I think if you wait for your NOA2 (should be 2-3 weeks - Vermont is already approving May) you can make a pretty good estimate at that point and have a good idea of safe dates.

The only reason I say you may want to wait for NOA2 befor making plans is beacuse if the NOA2 happens very soon there is a possiblility of a November interview so your guy could have his visa in hand in November but have to wait until he is in the 90 day window of the wedding before traveling.

Well, the big wedding will be in March but once he gets here with the visa, we're going to go to the courthouse to get married officially so we will be within the 90 days. That's legal, right??

Yes 90 days or whatever is actually recorded on the visa (which is generally 90 or a few days more in few cases).

USA

September 7, 2011: Paid AOS bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 9, 2011)

September 12, 2011: IV bill invoiced

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal
