No big deal...also, I should clarify that my experience at the embassy was specific to the New Delhi embassy although I imagine most of the guidelines still apply :D

These are good tips for us and we appreciate that (this is interesting observation - I was pretty observant while I was there. The decision always seemed to have been already made prior to the interview. 221g forms and AP letters were already printed and ready to be issued...the interview really seemed to be just to confirm that the CO's decision is correct.). I front-loaded both at I-130 level and again at DS-230 level, as I had some doubts on CO making decision on the evidence produced at Interview. I had a feeling that most of the decisions are make before the interview based on the documents submitted - there will always be a few cases, where a decision is made at interview.

I am looking to find out if we (CR1) that do not need to submit any additional/missed documents at VFS, will still have to go to VFS to pay any courier fee ..... or if we can we pay the courier fee, if any, at the interview time (Do we really have to pay anything!).

Of course the consulate web site mentions that we can go to the VFS after interview to collect the passports with visa/ closed packet between 4 - 5 PM the next day (call VFS to ascertain).

Thanks for the information. I am sorry for I didn't realise that you went for a K-1 visa. The process for CR1 is different - we pay the AOS and IV fees at NVC and our AOS and IV documents are processed at NVC before those are sent to Consulate for Interview.

I am looking for an answer from someone that had gone for CR1 visa.

Don't worry NavyK once my husband gets done with his interview on September 9th I am planning on writing a review about his experience so other people knows what to expect on their interview day @ the Mumbai Embassy :)

We were thinking about taking a DVD of Wedding Ceremony as one of the supporting evidence during the interview at US Consulate in Mumbai.

Questions:

1. Is suc DVD considered as valid supporting evidence ?

2. If yes, Does US Consulate in Mumbai or VFS office in Mumbai creates a fuss about carrying DVDs to their offices, due to security reasons ?

Nice to have DVD, photos only, No Hi tech.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

I took my DVD and wedding album to our interview. I knew she wouldn't watch it but it was just the point of showing that I had one. When she asked about the wedding I gave her some of the details, mentioned that we had a DVD. I just showed it to her because it had our date, names and a cute covering, then went into showing her the travel itinerary for myself, my dad and hubby to the wedding location immediately followed by the wedding album. The DVD was not necessary and of course they won't watch it but I had no problem taking it with me. It's your choice but the conversation was more over the pictures than the DVD.
