She doesn't. It is even OK to say (IF they ask) "We have not decided yet as we do not want to make plans until the visa in hand" (which they tell you not to in the instructions)

Make it clear to her that Americans do not necessarily always place the same emphasis on being married in a huge elaborate ceremony as Filipinos do --

She won't face that stigma of doing something wrong or inappropriate by admitting it'll be a civil ceremony. We did it, lot's of folks do it, it doesn't have any negative connotation as far as the visa goes.

For us, it was the fastest way to get the AOS submitted and keep the ball rolling. You guys can always have a ceremony in the U.S. or Philippines later to satisfy her or the family's desire for a normal ceremony.

17-Jan-10 - Filed K-1

26-Apr-10 - Approved

06-May-10 - Entered POE

24-May-10 - Married

22-Jul-10 - Filed AOS

18-Nov-10 - Approved

:innocent: The K-1 Visa Mike is like a "Shotgun Wedding". We seen our bride once or twice but 'were going to do this no matter what'. 90 days seems a short period of time but somehow we signed a Contract with the Goverment to Marry in that alloted amount of time.

The US does not govern where you (In the US of Course) marry but when you marry. (90 days). The US Goverment should not be concerned about your Wedding plans . Maybe you and kristen pick a place you both like and pick it together. 90 days is alot of time.
